BusinessObjects Report Bursting/Publishing

Report Bursting describes the distribution of hundreds of thousands of reports, customized to individual recipients. This presentation will review the distribution and report bursting components included in the latest version of the SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence platform.

BusinessObjects Enterprise and Edge, in their XI 3.1 edition, now include some powerful capabilities that allow users to automate the process of personalizing and distributing reports and report packages to audiences as large as 1,000,000 users.  During Publishing, the data in documents is refreshed against data sources and personalized before the publication is delivered to recipients. There are a few options to choose from:

• One database fetch for all recipients
• One database fetch for each batch of recipients
• One database fetch per recipient

We will discuss the advantages of various workflows, show some examples and live demonstrations, cover best practices for report bursting, and give tips to consider when designing publication and distribution workflows.
